Insurance is Done
Who knew those words would ever get me excited? We finalized the policy for the distillery, and we’re waiting on the actual policy to come in the mail any day. It was complicated. It was like when you’re a kid and you know you have to do your homework because it’s not gonna go away, but you still just want to keep playing Super Mario Brothers instead.
But it’s done so, yes! No more homework! The next step is to get it over to the landlord since it’s the last piece of our lease proposal. Hopefully all lights are green. One bummer is that we were hoping to get into the space on January 17, 2020 on account of that’s the 100th anniversary of the start of Prohibition. Would’ve been cool, but the bright side is the entire year still represents that 100th anniversary, and there’s no sodding way we are not going to be open this year - even if I have to stop playing video games…for a few hours…
Incidentally, the photo I included is of a mead that I made last summer and which is available now. Not commercially though - only for friends who stop by. It’s a byproduct of a batch of honey spirit I made - I just happened to reserve some of the ferment for fun. We also made up a batch of blackberry mead and they’re both really good! So if you’re in the neighborhood…
Hope to have some really good news soon.
