Letter of Intent
The still is homeless right now, hanging out at the storage unit near our place in a plastic and carboard hoodie. But we just signed a “Letter of Intent”, which for those unfamiliar with business (that’s ME), means we took the first step toward leasing a space. I’m likely to chronicle this entire process going forward, just for my own sanity, so get ready for some boring detail.
But anyway this is step one. I had to talk to our lawyer, who was super helpful in getting the letter into shape. It’s basically a mutual agreement between the landlord and the tenant that includes asks from both parties. I hope they say yes to our requests, because if they do - and we jump through a few more hoops like clearing a financial review - then we can get in there and start building out the space. Oh my GOD!
Signing that letter was one of the scariest things ever, because it means we’re serious; like, we’re REALLY DOING THIS. I guess you never know what something’s like until you try, right?
